Good evening Bobcat Nation.  This is your principal, Shaun Woody.  As we begin to enter our 3rd full week of school, I am calling tonight with a few updates.

First, on Thursday and Friday of this past week, your student was provided with a flash drive within his/her first-period classroom and downloaded lessons from all scheduled classes which we are calling “Student Learning Resources”. These are learning resources that students could use if our school division ever needed to pivot to an all-virtual learning model.

Our school division is not currently looking into switching to an all-virtual model.  However, a large part of this school division’s success has been achieved by being proactive in our approach to education.

Our Student Learning Resources contain 10-days worth of instructional resources. These resources are not to be worked on at this time. If a situation arises where we do need students to complete the work, we will let you know. For now, just store them in a safe place. Again, these are being provided to ensure continuity of learning for our students, regardless of what circumstances may lie ahead.

Second tonight, on Monday and Friday of this upcoming week, TeamLCPS will be having Green and Gold days.  Show your TeamLCPS and Bobcat pride by wearing green and gold on these days.  We are encouraging ALL families and students who participate to share their photos using the hashtag "#TeamLCPS" and to email them to [email protected].

Finally, tonight, whether your child is an LCPS Virtual Academy Student or a Blended Model student, students must remain up to date on their classwork, homework, and other assignments.  Working in the virtual environment is new for all of us.  However, students keeping up to date with their given assignments is critical for their overall success this academic year.

As always, I thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457.  Have a great night!
