LCMS FFA Students Excel at State Fair

The LCMS Chapter had an AWESOME week of competing and learning at the 2017 State Fair of Virginia.


Eleanor Pekary and Savannah Goodwin competed in the State Agriscience Demonstration contest and placed 3rd overall in Division I. These ladies prepared a demonstration on how to properly bandage a horse's hoof.

Shae Frey competed in the Horticulture Demonstration contest and placed 6th overall! Shae demonstrated how to create a beautiful corsage using fall colors. As an eighth-grader, Shae was one of the youngest students out of 22 contestants!

 

The Forestry Field Day team placed 7th overall among 21 teams! Students competed in the following events:

Bowsaw - Keaton Hopkins
Crosscut Saw - Carter Knight and Grace Hoosier
Log Roll - Benjamin Deam and Xavier Whitehead 
Log Throw - Chase Anderson
Water Accuracy - Ayden Alvis


Top categories were Ayden Alvis in 4th place for water accuracy and Benjamin Dean and Xavier Whitehead in 1st for log roll.
