Good afternoon, LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families!

We have had a stellar beginning to the second semester this week! I commend our Bobcats on a smooth transition back to school. On Monday and Tuesday, administrators engaged with students during health classes to talk about the responsibilities and high standards expected in our learning community, including our buses. We emphasized the importance of making good choices and being mindful of actions and words—key traits of a responsible Bobcat citizen. We encourage you to continue this conversation at home, discussing the significance of high expectations and healthy habits. Ensuring your child has a consistent sleep routine, balanced nutrition, and responsible use of phones and devices are crucial aspects of their development. Let's work together to support our students in growing up healthy and responsible!

I am reaching out this afternoon with some midweek announcements:

At LCMS, we will wear our Kindness shirts on Friday and we will have Bobcat Pride time with an Olweus lesson during WIN Block!

Kindness Cart prizes will be given out to random winners who are wearing their Kindness shirts on Friday. The Bobcat Pride Spirit Banners will be up for grabs based on which grade level hallways (even vs odd) have the most students wearing their Kindness shirts!

Black History Month begins on February 1st! Bobcats will join their grade-level Google Classroom for the Black History Month contests by clicking the links on the LCMS Student Start Page! In remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the first video was released today. Students who complete the video by Tuesday, January 21st will be entered into a drawing to win a prize! Daily videos will be posted during February highlighting the achievements of African Americans. Students will carefully watch Edpuzzle videos and answer the questions. Daily and weekly winners will be selected based on how well students score and how many videos they complete.

Together, we create a community where kindness and learning thrive! Thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm. Here is to a fantastic second semester full of growth and achievement!
