Principal Weekly Update LogoLCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,

There will be no school tomorrow, Monday, January 16th, as we commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tuesday, January 17th will be a B day.

Friday, January 20th will be TeamLCPS Green and Gold Day! Let’s show our TeamLCPS Spirit!

Looking ahead to the Asynchronous Learning Days on January 25th, February 15th, and March 8th:

Louisa County Parks, Recreation & Tourism (LCPRT) offers the Teens In Action (TIA) Teen Lounge for middle school students to be able to hang out with friends for a day of games, team building activities, and gym time, as well as a community service project at the Betty J. Queen Center. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided, but participants need to bring a bagged lunch and a water bottle. The registration deadline is the Monday before the Asynchronous Learning Day or when the registration is full. The Teen Lounge is available from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Asynchronous Learning Days and the cost for each day is $20. For the Asynchronous Learning Day in February, the Teens in Action will be teaming up with JABA and doing crafts and games with the Senior Center, and in March they will be heading to Serenity Farms to volunteer. To register, visit the LCPRT website or call their office at 540-967-4420.

LCPRT also offers a TIA After School Program for sixth and seventh graders, providing a place where students can be creative, socialize with their peers, and receive guidance and skills needed to grow into leaders. Homework time, youth activities, cooking fun, games, and gym time are supervised by qualified staff. An afternoon snack is served daily. LCPS provides transportation from LCMS to the Betty J. Queen Center daily. TIA has a $15 registration fee, with a daily rate of $10 per day for the first child and $7 per day for additional siblings from the same family. LCPRT is offering a free day for the after school program on Friday, January 20th for students and parents to see what the program is all about! Pre-registration is required. Again, to learn more about the Teens in Action programs, visit the LCPRT website or call their office at 540-967-4420.

If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way at LCMS, please call our office at (540) 894-5457.
