Good evening, LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families, This is LCMS principal, Amanda Harper.

Monday, October 3rd will be a B day.

Wednesday, October 5th will be an Asynchronous Learning Day. Bobcat students and staff will be participating in a community service activity as a way to give back to our supportive community. We will be working together to clean up roads within Louisa County. This is an excellent opportunity for students to be involved in a service project that benefits our community. If your student would like to participate, please complete the permission form, as a form must be on file to attend. Please return this permission form to the LCMS Main Office no later than tomorrow, Monday, October 3rd.

Following the Asynchronous Learning Day, Thursday, October 6th will be a B day.

The LCMS Library will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair from Monday, October 3rd through Friday, October 7th. Students will be able to visit the fair with their English teachers on their scheduled day. The fair will also be open in the morning at 7:45 and during lunch for students who have money to make a purchase but not simply browse. The fair will be open during the Asynchronous Learning Day on Wednesday, October 5th to students and their families from 11 am to 3 pm. Please feel free to stop in and pick up some amazing new books to read!

During the month of October, LCMS will be collecting NEW socks, hats, gloves, scarves, and other winter clothes to donate to families in our community. All items must be new and can be donated in bins located in the cafeteria. Be sure to donate to your homeroom's hallway bin so that hallway earns the points! Collection starts tomorrow, Monday, October 3rd and will run through Friday, October 28th.

The Lions Club will be coming to LCMS on Wednesday, October 12 for hearing and vision screening for 7th grade students.

The Piedmont YMCA is offering a Teen Leaders Club at LCMS for our Bobcats to “Hang Out With a Purpose.” Leaders Club offers support to achieve teens' goals, leadership skills, impactful community service projects, team-building skills, and self-confidence. The group will meet weekly at LCMS on Mondays after school until 5:45 beginning on October 3rd and continuing through the school year. Participants may ride the activity bus. The cost for the year is $50 for Piedmont YMCA members and $100 for non-members. Financial assistance is available. Connect with friends and register at PiedmontYMCA.org!

Also, students, don’t forget that we are drawing closer to our division-wide Rally 4 Kindness on October 13th! This will be one amazing event in The Jungle as we focus on kindness in our schools, our families, our communities, and ourselves! So remember each and every day the importance of being kind to one another, and get excited for our Rally For Kindness on October 13th!
