LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families, this is LCMS principal, Amanda Harper.
Monday, November 17th will be an A Day.
Interim Reports Went Home on Friday
Interim reports were sent home with students on Friday, November 14th. Please review the report with your child and contact teachers with any questions or concerns. I also encourage you to frequently monitor your child’s academic progress by using the online PowerSchool Parent Portal, where you are able to see the detailed grade book for each class, as well as attendance and tardy information. Working together, we can ensure your child’s growth and success!
Attendance Matters!
To celebrate great attendance, we are now recognizing the homerooms in each grade level with the highest weekly attendance with Excellence in Attendance classroom door banners and “Presence Presents” (prizes for students)! We are excited to celebrate strong attendance and cheer on our homerooms as they work toward this weekly recognition!
We appreciate your commitment to your child's education and well-being. By working together to prioritize regular school attendance, we can ensure that each student has the best opportunity for success.
“Phil the Turkey” Food Drive: Donations Needed!
Help to "Phil the Turkey" during the month of November! We will be collecting non-perishable foods for the Louisa Resource Council. Needed items include:
Canned vegetables, pasta, peanut butter, applesauce, fruit cups, beans, canned soup, rice, granola bars, Pop-Tarts, and fruit snacks. Food will be distributed to local families for the holiday season.
Attending After School Athletic Events
The winter sports season is underway! Our teams are poised to have a great season! Be reminded that on days when we have home athletics events, students need to leave school as usual and return to school with an adult to attend the event. Students are not able to stay on the school campus without prearranged staff supervision. Also, students may not go to the Louisa County library and then return for an event; the library does not have structures in place to supervise our young Bobcat spectators. We look forward to cheering on our athletes this season!

Looking Ahead:
Clubs on Monday, November 24th
Clubs will meet near the end of the day on Monday, November 24th! This is such an exciting time for our Bobcats where each student is involved in their unique activity, so we ask that parents and families avoid picking up students for an early dismissal after 2:15 if possible, since students will be in clubs.
Fall Break: Wednesday through Friday, November 26th-28th
Wednesday through Friday, November 26th through 28th will be our fall break, and there will be no school for students. Classes will resume on Monday, December 1st. I wish all of our Bobcats a joyful and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday filled with warmth and togetherness!
English Benchmark Test on Wednesday, December 3rd
Bobcats in grades 6, 7, and 8 will take the English benchmark test on Wednesday, December 3rd. We will have an alternate bell schedule, which will slightly impact lunch shift times. The English benchmark will be an opportunity for students to demonstrate their reading and writing skills and progress, so we encourage them to do their best!
Classroom Spelling Bees
Bobcats will participate in classroom spelling bees in their English classes before winter break. Students will receive study lists from their English teachers. Grade level spelling bees will take place on Thursday, January 15th.
