LCMS Kindness Kickoff: Wednesday, September 24th
We will have our LCMS Kindness Kickoff during the school day on Wednesday, September 24th! We will enjoy hearing from a special guest speaker, Doug Reavis of the YouUplift platform! We will also have our first Bobcat Pride Time (an Olweus lesson) of the year, and we will have Team Time with our grade levels! We will wear GREEN and GOLD on Wednesday to show our school spirit for the event. It will be an exciting day!

Visit our LCMS website to submit anonymous positive and encouraging messages to our Bobcats on our YouUplift Kindness eWall! We have continuously remained #1 in the Nation on the YouUplift Leaderboard for the most messages submitted. Let’s keep it up!

LCMS Parent Advisory Council Meeting: Wednesday, September 24th
The LCMS Parent Advisory Council is an important component of our success, where school-related concerns are communicated to the principal. We work together to define and examine relevant issues within the school environment. The first meeting will occur on September 24th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the LCMS conference room. Follow-up meetings are scheduled for November 12th, January 21st, and March 4th. If you are interested in serving on the LCMS Parent Advisory Council, please contact Dr. Harper.

After School Dance: Friday, September 26th
We will have our next after school dance on Friday, September 26th until 5:30! Permission forms must be turned in by Thursday, September 25th at 1:20. Registrations will not be accepted on the day of the dance. The $10 fee will include admission to the dance and one student admission to the LCHS Varsity home football game in the Jungle!

Pizza, soda, water, chips, and candy will be available for purchase during the dance!

Parents/guardians will pick up students from the dance *beginning* at 5:30. (Early pickups are difficult because students are still dancing!)
Enter the campus using the main middle school entrance if you are staying for the football game. Enter the campus using the Bus Garage Road entrance if you plan to leave campus after picking up your child.

Proceed to door #2 (the 7th grade entrance) to pick up your child.

We look forward to some social time with our Bobcats, followed by cheering on our Lions in the Jungle!

Emergency Procedure Reviews
As we continue to practice our emergency procedures, we will have a Lockdown drill this week.

LCMS Fundraiser
Our LCMS Mega Blast Extreme Fundraiser is in full swing! This initiative is designed to be effortless for everyone involved—there are no catalogs to manage, no products to deliver, no door-to-door sales, and no money to collect. Both students and parents appreciate the simple and enjoyable format.

How to Participate
Participating is quick and easy—it takes less than five minutes using your phone, tablet, or computer.

Visit the following link to register and enter the email addresses of 10 adults (such as friends or family members):

www.themegablast.com/join/Louisa

If a student raises at least $50 from supporters in the next two weeks, they will attend THE MEGA BLAST AIR CIRCUS SHOW, featuring the Freestyle Connection BMX Stunt Team. This team will bring both a ¼ Pipe Ramp and a Full Box Ramp, along with three professional BMX stunt riders, for this exciting event.

You can further support our fundraiser by inviting friends and family to join, either by adding their email addresses or sharing your student’s unique link on social media. Thank you for supporting our school!
School Pictures are Ready!
To order school pictures, log in to your account on mylifetouch.com or create an account using your student's student ID number and Picture Day ID EVTQPCGZF.
All families can also log on and order a FREE Digital SmileSafe card. Read more about the Smilesafe program here.
Fall pictures are included in our annual yearbook, so students who did not have their picture taken are encouraged to participate in the makeup picture day, which will be on Monday, October 20th. There will also be an opportunity for those who ordered pictures to have their picture retaken on that day. The picture order or proof must be brought back on retake day for a student to have a retake.

Patriot’s Pen Writing Contest
We encourage our Bobcats to enter the Patriot’s Pen Writing Contest. The essay contest encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300- to 400-word essay, expressing their views based on a patriotic theme chosen by the VFW Commander-in-Chief. Students interested in participating must submit their essay prepared on this year's theme, with a completed 2025-2026 entry form, to their local participating VFW Post. Applications must be turned in by midnight on October 31st.

ParentGuidance.org
Louisa County Public Schools has partnered with the Cook Center for Human Connection and their Mental Health Resource Center, ParentGuidance.org.

ParentGuidance.org is a website that was developed to help parents, guardians, and caregivers with parenting advice from the top clinicians and experts who offer guidance around issues related to the most common challenges parents face today: anxiety, social media use, school avoidance, bullying, and more.

It offers on-demand, anonymous courses and resources from experts who can help parents address common concerns, improve family relationships, and support your overall child's emotional well-being. The content is created by licensed therapists and experienced teachers! ParentGuidance.org aims to provide parents and caregivers with the tools they need to create a loving and supportive home for their children. Find the tools that you need to support your family, in English or Spanish, completely free.

Attending School is a Key to Success
We ask for families’ support in helping students meet the basic expectation of being at school and arriving on time every day. Regular school attendance supports a positive school experience! Our school doors open at 7:40, the warning bell rings at 7:50, and first period begins at 7:55. Students arriving to class after 7:55 are considered tardy, and a parent should submit a note explaining the reason for the tardiness. When students are absent, parents should also submit a note explaining the reason for the absence. Notes can be dropped off in the main office or emailed to [email protected].

Looking Ahead:
Community Service Day: Tuesday, October 14th
October 13th and 14th will be teacher work days/staff development days, and there will be no school for students. Tuesday, October 14th will be a Community Service Day. LCMS students are invited to participate in a campus/roadside cleanup. This is an excellent opportunity for students to be involved in a service project that benefits our community. Signup information will be available the week of September 22nd.
