LCMS Principal Weekly Update for Dec. 15, 2024
LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families, this is LCMS principal Amanda Harper.
Monday, December 16th will be an A Day.
Clubs on Monday, December 16th
We will have clubs at the end of the day on Monday, December 16th! This is such an exciting time for our Bobcats where each student is involved in their unique activity, so we ask that parents and families avoid picking up students for an early dismissal after 2:15 if possible, since students will be in clubs.
Holiday Store During Shifts This Week
The Bobcats Spreading Kindness Club will be hosting a holiday store during lunch shifts! All proceeds collected will help fund our kindness initiatives at LCMS!
LCPS Spirit Week This Week
It might be hard to believe, but Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be our last school days of the first semester, which means that it is time to end this semester in STYLE by having a little FUN with a Holiday Spirit Week! Throughout the week, join in the fun, snap a selfie, and email it to us at
[email protected]. Winners will be randomly selected each day to win a PRIZE!
On Monday, wear your favorite holiday sweater and accessories. On Tuesday, wear your favorite holiday shirt and accessories. On Wednesday, wear fun and festive holiday wear and accessories!
LCPS Calendar Change
Last month, one of our local state senators won an election for a congressional seat. Because of this result, a special election will need to be held to fill the vacated Senate District 10 seat. This special election will take place on Tuesday, January 7th. As you may know, the date of this special election is important for all of us as four of our schools (JES, M-NES, TES, and LCMS) serve as voting precincts for Louisa County voters.
Accordingly, we have put a plan in place and are making the following revisions to our calendar:
Monday, January 6th, and Tuesday, January 7th will serve as Teacher Workdays (no school for students). Classes will resume for the second semester on Wednesday, January 8th.
To compensate for the loss of in-person instructional time for our second semester, our Asynchronous Days scheduled for February 5th and March 12th will now serve as regular school days.
This change is reflected on our online division calendar, which you can access on our division website at
lcps.k12.va.us as well as on our TeamLCPS mobile app. We also recommend opening the link below and printing out the latest edition of our 2024-2025 LCPS Calendar:

In this holiday season, I would like to take a moment to extend warm wishes to you and your loved ones. The school year has been filled with learning, growth, and shared experiences, and now it's time to embrace the joy and warmth of the holidays. May this festive season bring you moments of happiness, laughter, and connection with family and friends. May you find time to relax, recharge, and create lasting memories with those you hold dear.
As we reflect on the past year, let's also look forward to new beginnings and opportunities in the coming year. Thank you for being an integral part of our school community. Your support, involvement, and commitment to your child's education make our middle school a vibrant and enriching place for all.
