LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,
Monday, December 15th will be a B Day.
Attendance Continues to be Important!
With the end of the semester approaching, it might be tempting to think that it won’t matter if your child is absent a day or two this week, but please be assured that attendance matters every day of the school year, including this exciting week ahead! As always, students should stay home when they are sick, but should attend school when possible. This week will include end-of-semester learning, assessments, and special time together! To celebrate great attendance, we will be announcing random prize winners during the morning announcements, and Bobcats must be present to win! We hope to see every student here every day.
Clubs on Monday, December 15th
We will have clubs at the end of the day on Monday, December 16th! This is such an exciting time for our Bobcats where each student is involved in their unique activity, so we ask that parents and families avoid picking up students for an early dismissal after 2:15 if possible, since students will be in clubs.
LCPS Holiday Spirit Week
Monday, December 15th, through Friday, December 19th, we will once again be celebrating one of our favorite annual traditions, Holiday Spirit Week! Each day of the final week of the first semester, we will have a unique theme to celebrate. And, throughout the week, join in the fun, snap a selfie, and email it to
[email protected]. Winners will be randomly selected each day to win a PRIZE!
We hope all of our Bobcats will join in the fun of Holiday Spirit Week!
Monday, December 15th: Favorite Holiday Shirt/Character
Tuesday, December 16th: Favorite Holiday Accessories
Wednesday, December 17th: Holiday Sweater Day
Thursday, December 18th: Flannel Day/Pajama Day
Friday, December 19th: Fun & Festive Holiday Wear
Snow Globe Decorating Contest
To celebrate the winter season, Bobcats can design and decorate a
Snow Globe! Entries are due by Tuesday, December 16th. Students should be creative and use lots of color in their designs. Entries can be turned into the grade level baskets in the cafeteria. Winners will be announced on Thursday, December 18th!
LCMS Holiday Store
The Bobcats Spreading Kindness Club will be hosting a holiday store during lunch shifts on Wednesday and Thursday, December 17th and 18th. Items will be available for purchase for $1-$2 each. All proceeds collected will help fund our kindness initiatives at LCMS. The Holiday Store will be the ideal place to accessorize for the LCPS Holiday Spirit Week, or to do some holiday shopping!
Deck the Halls with Kindness on the YouUplift Platform!
The holiday season is upon us, and it's time to spread cheer! We have launched our "Deck the Halls with Kindness" competition on the
YouUplift platform, and we need your help to fill our school with positivity and joy!
Each homeroom is competing to prove who can Deck the Halls with the most kindness this season. Every kind word, encouraging message, and thoughtful comment shared on
YouUplift will count towards students’ homeroom totals. The homeroom in each grade level that spreads the most kindness throughout December will be crowned the Kindness Holiday Champions and earn an awesome prize to celebrate!
So, Bobcats, let’s bring the holiday spirit to life by filling our halls with kindness. Get on
YouUplift, share your warm and fuzzy messages, and let’s see who can create the most magical holiday atmosphere with kindness!
Learning Materials for Remote Learning Days
This week in classes, LCMS teachers will guide students on how to make five days of learning materials available offline, ensuring they are prepared for the possibility of Remote Learning Days, should they become necessary. This includes using Google Slides, Docs, Sheets, PDFs, and videos offline, so the Internet will not be required to complete assignments on Remote Learning Days.
To make it easy for students to find their assignments, we will use a consistent naming convention: Remote Learning Day (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) Subject (Math, English, Social Studies, Science, etc.)
Students will star these materials in their Google Drive so they can use the Starred filter in Google Drive to find them easily.
Again, all assignments are designed to be completed without Internet access, ensuring that students can continue learning regardless of connectivity.
Resources are intended for use only if the school division calls a Remote Learning Day. Please do not use them unless such a day is announced.
Please reach out to your child’s teachers with any questions you might have as we proactively prepare for the possibility of Remote Learning Days.
