LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,
Monday, November 24th will be a B Day.

Clubs on Monday, November 24th
Clubs will meet near the end of the day on Monday, November 24th! This is such an exciting time for our Bobcats where each student is involved in their unique activity, so we ask that parents and families avoid picking up students for an early dismissal after 2:15 if possible, since students will be in clubs.

No Extended Learning or After School Academy on Tuesday, November 25th
The Extended Learning and After School Academy programs will not meet on Tuesday, November 25th. If your child usually participates in either of these programs, we kindly ask that you take a moment to remind them of this to ensure they know what their plan will be at dismissal. All programs will resume as scheduled on Tuesday, December 2nd.

Fall Break: Wednesday through Friday, November 26th-28th
Wednesday through Friday, November 26th through 28th will be our fall break, and there will be no school for students. Classes will resume on Monday, December 1st. I wish all of our Bobcats a joyful and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday filled with warmth and togetherness!

“Phil the Turkey” Food Drive: Donations Needed!
Help to "Phil the Turkey" during the month of November! We are collecting non-perishable foods for the Louisa Resource Council. Needed items include:
Canned vegetables, pasta, peanut butter, applesauce, fruit cups, beans, canned soup, rice, granola bars, Pop-Tarts, and fruit snacks. Food will be distributed to local families for the holiday season.

Candy Cane Grams
The LCMS PTA is excited to offer Candy Cane Grams available for purchase by students, staff, and family members! Each Candy Cane Gram will include a special message from the sender attached to a candy cane, and they are only $1 each. They can be purchased online now, and will be available for cash purchases during lunch shifts on December 9th and December 11th. Sales end December 12th, with delivery the week of December 15th. Candy Cane Grams are a great way to show appreciation for friends, teachers, and classmates while supporting the LCMS PTA.

Attending After School Athletic Events

The winter sports season is underway! Our teams are poised to have a great season! Be reminded that on days when we have home athletics events, students need to leave school as usual and return to school with an adult to attend the event. Students are not able to stay on the school campus without prearranged staff supervision. Also, students may not go to the Louisa County library and then return for an event; the library does not have structures in place to supervise our young Bobcat spectators. We look forward to cheering on our athletes this season!
Speaking of supporting our teams, check out our team stores at https://louisacoms.itemorder.com/shop/home/ to purchase some great Bobcat swag! The stores will be open through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, November 24th, and the items will arrive quickly so we can cheer on our winter teams!

Looking Ahead:
English Benchmark Test on Wednesday, December 3rd
Bobcats in grades 6, 7, and 8 will take the English benchmark test on Wednesday, December 3rd. We will have an alternate bell schedule, which will slightly impact lunch shift times. The English benchmark test will be an opportunity for students to demonstrate their reading and writing skills and progress, so we encourage them to do their best!

Jingle Jamboree on Friday, December 5th
Bobcats are invited for some festive fun at our Jingle Jamboree on Friday, December 5th after school until 6:00 p.m.! This exciting event is designed for students to celebrate the end of the semester with a variety of engaging activities. Students will dance their hearts out in the cafeteria, enjoy holiday-themed shows and shorts in the forum, unleash their creativity with crafts and coloring in the classrooms, and play exciting games in the gym. This is a great opportunity to create wonderful memories with friends and classmates. Permission forms with the $5 admission are due by Thursday, December 4th after the last lunch shift.

Classroom Spelling Bees
Bobcats will participate in classroom spelling bees in their English classes before winter break. Students will receive study lists from their English teachers. Grade level spelling bees will take place on Thursday, January 15th.

If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way, please call our office at (540) 894-5457.

Wishing you and your family a peaceful and joyful Thanksgiving filled with love and cherished moments together! Enjoy this special time to rest and connect. Happy Thanksgiving!
