LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,

Monday, September 14th will be an A Day.

Interim Reports Went Home on Friday
Interim reports were sent home with students on Friday, September 11th. Please review the report with your child and contact teachers with any questions or concerns. We also encourage you to frequently monitor your child’s academic progress by using the online PowerSchool Parent Portal, where you are able to see the detailed grade book for each class, as well as attendance and tardy information. Working together, we can ensure your child’s growth and success!

Wear Red, White, and Blue on Thursday, September 17th
Bobcat students and staff will wear red, white, and blue on Thursday, September 17th for Constitution Day!
Constitution Day became a national observance in 2004 when Senator Robert Byrd passed a bill designating September 17th as the day for citizens to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution and learn more about our founding document.

It has been wonderful to see our Bobcats’ creativity shine in the Patriotic Star Decorating Contest! Bobcats are also participating in a United States Constitution Video Competition by carefully watching Edpuzzle videos and answering questions. Winners will be selected based on how well students score and how many videos they complete! Students who complete all four Edpuzzles will attend a special event! Students have also been participating in United States Constitution Kahoot games. Winners will be chosen from the Bobcats with the highest scores!

Remind your child to visit the LCMS Student Start Page and click the Constitution Day link to access the video competition and the Kahoot games!

New Exploratory Wheel Begins for Sixth Grade Bobcats on Friday, September 18th
The second exploratory rotation (E2) begins for sixth grade students on Friday, September 18th. The exploratory wheel rotates through six classes, each meeting for six weeks. Students can check out their PowerSchool Student Portal to see which class they have next!

After School Dance on Friday, September 18th!
We will have an after school dance this Friday, September 18th until 5:30. Permission forms must be turned in by the end of 4th period on Thursday, September 17th. Registrations will not be accepted on the day of the dance. The $10 fee will include admission to the dance and one student admission to the LCHS Varsity home football game in the Jungle! Students will receive the ticket when they exit the dance on Friday evening.

Pizza, soda, water, chips, and candy will be available for purchase during the dance!

Parents/guardians will pick up students *beginning* at 5:30, at the cafeteria entrance of LCMS, accessed from the side parking lot.

(This is a change from last year! The side lot is open again for parking, but spaces are limited. If you plan to attend the football game after pickup, park in the main front lot and walk around to the side cafeteria entrance for dance pickup.)

*Early pickups are difficult because students are still dancing!

All school rules apply at the dance. Students are expected to dance appropriately and dress according to the dress code. Cell phones must remain in backpacks and not be used during the dance. We look forward to seeing our Bobcats in green and gold on Friday and cheering on our Lions in the Jungle!

Patriot’s Pen Writing Contest
The Patriot’s Pen Writing Contest encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300- to 400-word essay in response to the theme “What A Veteran Taught Me About America.” Students interested in participating must submit their essay with a completed 2026-2027 entry form to their local participating VFW Post. Applications must be turned in by midnight on October 31st.

School Pictures are Ready!
To order school pictures, log in to your account on mylifetouch.com or create an account using your student's student ID number and Picture Day ID: EVT9TMRKK.
Fall pictures are included in our annual yearbook, so students who did not have their picture taken are encouraged to participate in the makeup picture day on Thursday, October 15th. Students who ordered pictures will also have the opportunity to have their picture retaken that day. Students must bring the picture order or proof, which will arrive in the next few weeks, on retake day to have a retake.

LCMS Yearbooks
Yearbooks for the 2026-2027 school year are now available to purchase! You can order online, or students can bring cash or a check (made payable to LCMS). The price is currently $38. Students can see Ms. Dallas Ventre in room 901 with any questions.
