Principal Update for 6th Grade Families!

Welcome to Louisa County Middle School, 6th grade Bobcats!
6th Grade Orientation and Chromebook Distribution will take place on Wednesday, July 29th and Thursday, July 30th:
-Students with last names starting with A-K are invited to attend a session either at 3:30 or at 6:00 on Wednesday, July 29th.
-Students with last names starting with L-Z are invited to attend a session either at 3:30 or at 6:00 on Thursday, July 30th.
Families, you can choose the best time for you, either 3:30 or 6:00, on the designated day based on your child’s last name. The program will begin promptly at the time listed and should last approximately an hour and a half.
Sessions will include a presentation about being a sixth-grader at LCMS, a look around the sixth grade wing, and Chromebook distribution. Equipment insurance is available for Chromebooks for $20, which can be paid online in the returning student registration or with cash or check in the gym during Chromebook distribution. We encourage you to purchase equipment insurance, which covers accidental damage at no cost for the first incident and at 50% of the repair cost or replacement, whichever is less, for the second incident of accidental damage. Please note that lost chargers are not covered by the equipment insurance, nor is intentional damage.
It is helpful for students to bring the printed schedule they will receive in the mail to 6th Grade Orientation, Open House on August 6th, and to school for the first week or two while they are finding their classrooms. Students’ schedules are also accessible in the Student and Parent Portals in PowerSchool. Encourage your child that, of course, if they need help, they just need to ask the nearest adult! We are here to help ensure every student has a positive start to the school year!
**Returning Student Online Registration must be completed before picking up Chromebooks. Parents and guardians, you should have received an email notification from PowerSchool with further instructions. As a reminder, this process must be completed for all students before they pick up their Chromebooks at orientation.
This sixth-grade orientation is in addition to the regular Open House where students will meet their teachers. LCMS Open House will take place for students in grades 6, 7, and 8 on Thursday, August 6th, from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m.
