LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,

There will be no school on Monday, January 15th, as we commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tuesday, January 16th will be a B Day.

Black History Month Video Competition
Black History Month begins on February 1st! Bobcats will join their grade-level Google Classroom for the Black History Month contests by clicking the links on the LCMS Student Start Page! In remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the first video was released on January 12th. Students who complete the video by Friday, January 19th will be entered into a drawing to win a prize! Daily videos will be posted during February highlighting the achievements of African Americans. Students will carefully watch Edpuzzle videos and answer the questions. Daily and weekly winners will be selected based on how well students score and how many videos they complete.

Clubs on Thursday, January 18th
We will have clubs at the end of the day on Thursday, January 18th! This is such an exciting time for our Bobcats where each student is involved in their unique activity, so we ask that parents and families avoid picking up students for an early dismissal after 2:15 if possible, since students will be in clubs.

LCMS Family Fun Night on Friday, January 26th
LCMS students and families are invited for a completely FREE night of family fun! Bingo Night will take place on Friday, January 26th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the LCMS cafeteria. There will be bingo, snacks, prizes, and lots of fun for our Bobcat community!

Bobcat Kindness Closet
I would like to highlight that there is a link on the LCMS Student Start Page for the Bobcat Kindness Closet. The Kindness Closet was created to help provide our Bobcat families with items to meet their basic needs. If a student could benefit from some of the items listed, please fill out the form indicating the items needed. We are happy to announce that clothes, including coats, are available along with toiletries. We will gather the requested items and deliver them to students in a discreet manner. Students can also share their needs with their grade level counselor. If you would like to donate items for the Kindness Closet, please contact our office or a school counselor.

If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way, please call our office at (540) 894-5457.
