Weekly Update GraphicLCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,

Monday, March 25th will be an A Day. Our last school day before Spring Break will be Friday, March 29th – which is a TeamLCPS Green & Gold Spirit Day – and then we will return to school on Monday, April 8th. I hope all of our Bobcats enjoy the break and make some great memories with family.

New Exploratory Wheel Begins for Sixth Grade Bobcats on Friday, March 29th
Sixth grade students will begin a new exploratory class in the wheel on Friday, March 29th. Students can check out their PowerSchool Student Portal to see which class they have next!

8th to 9th Grade Transitions
This week, 8th grade Bobcats will have an opportunity to tour LCHS during the school day, and then 8th grade families and students are invited to the upcoming Transitions Night at LCHS on Wednesday, March 27th – Making the Transition to High School:  What Students and Parents Should Know.

From LCHS:
We look forward to presenting what you and your child can expect from 9th grade next year at LCHS. Dinner will be provided at 5:00, and an informational session will begin promptly at 5:45. You will have the opportunity to meet LCHS teachers of many subjects and ask questions of those teachers, as well as gather brochures and handouts explaining course expectations. If you have any questions concerning the event, please call LCHS at (540) 894-5436. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing the class of 2028 on Wednesday, March 27th!

Solar Eclipse: Monday, April 8th
Weather permitting, our Bobcats will view the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th! LCPS has purchased solar eclipse glasses for EVERY student and staff member so they can watch the eclipse safely. We will also be having conversations with all of our students about how to use the glasses and the importance of NOT looking at the eclipse without them. We ask that you emphasize the importance of safety to your child as well.

Seeing this eclipse is a great opportunity for our students, but at LCPS, we always want to make sure they can enjoy the fun safely. Please join us in encouraging your child to practice safe habits on April 8th when enjoying the eclipse.

LCPS Job Fair: Saturday, April 13th
The LCPS Job Fair will place on Saturday, April 13th at Louisa County High School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You do not have to RSVP, but if you’re interested, we encourage you to fill out the RSVP form so we can schedule you for an interview. TeamLCPS is looking to fill positions like teachers, instructional assistants, bus drivers, mechanics, cafeteria workers, custodians, and more! So, if you know someone who would be interested in joining our team – the best TEAM in the country – send this info their way!

Reminders to Students: Think Before You Speak, Think Before You Act, and Be Kind!
As we head into the home stretch of the school year, please be sure to speak with your child about making positive choices. This means making good choices in school, treating others with respect, being mindful on social media, and just being an overall positive person and good role model for others. I encourage you to have a conversation with your child about finishing this year strong by making good decisions.

This will be a great week as we head into spring break! Remember to wear GREEN and GOLD on Friday for TeamLCPS Spirit Day! I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable spring break.

If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way, please call our office at (540) 894-5457.
