LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying this week’s time off from school! We are looking forward to seeing our Bobcats back at school tomorrow.

Tryouts for wrestling and boys basketball will take this week! Tryouts for wrestling will begin after school on Wednesday, November 8th. Athletes trying out should report to the auxiliary gym directly after school. Tryouts for boys basketball will be in the main gym after school on Wednesday, November 8th for 6th grade, Thursday, November 9th for 7th grade, and Monday, November 13th for 8th grade. A current VHSL physical dated after May 1, 2023, is required for all tryout events. Please see our LCMS athletics website for more information.

It is time to fill “P-H-I-L the Turkey” to support the Louisa Resource Council! We have three turkey-shaped collection boxes (named Phil) in the cafeteria for grade levels to compete to bring in the most nonperishable items such as canned veggies or soup, pasta, peanut butter, applesauce, granola bars, fruit cups, pasta, or other dry goods. Which grade level will collect the most items to support the Louisa Resource Council?

We hope that you will join us on Thursday evening, November 9th, at 6:30 p.m. in the LCMS Forum for a Veterans Day concert hosted by our LCMS chorus, and featuring a special performance by our guitar ensemble. If you know a special Veteran, please invite them! We are looking forward to seeing our Bobcats performing inspiring patriotic songs honoring those who have served our country.

We will wear red, white, and blue on Friday, November 10th in honor of Veterans Day.

We will have an after school dance on Friday, November 10th! Permission forms must be turned in by Thursday, November 9th by 1:20. Registrations will not be accepted on the day of the dance. Parents/guardians will pick up students from the dance *beginning* at 5:30 at the cafeteria entrance of LCMS, which is located on the side of the school. Parking is very limited in the side lot. Please use the Bus Garage Road entrance, park in the front lot, and walk around to the side entrance.

It is going to be a great week at LCMS!
