LCMS Principal Update for Nov. 15, 2020
Good evening Bobcat Nation. This is your principal, Shaun Woody. I hope you all have enjoyed a relaxing weekend with family. I am calling tonight with a preview for the week of November 16th.
This past Friday, Team B blended model students were given 2nd nine weeks interims during their 4th-period class. In addition, Virtual Academy students had their interims mailed home this past Thursday. Team A blended model students will be given their interims this Monday during 4th-period class. We encourage parents to reach out to teachers and communicate supports that are needed from teachers to ensure the academic success of our students. We understand this academic year is like no other. However, in building a collaborative relationship, we can overcome the challenges we all are facing.
On Thursday (19th) and Friday (20th) of this week, we will continue with our Olweus Bullying Prevention lessons. Students should report to their 4th-period class upon entry to the building and after picking up their free breakfast. As a reminder, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and take home) are free for all of the first semester for all students.
As a final reminder, the LCMS “Stuff the Turkey Food Drive” will be ending on Friday (20th). We are asking that students and staff bring in canned foods and other non-perishable items to support the Louisa County Resource Council. Donations should be given to your child’s 1st-period teacher. LCPS Virtual Academy students may drop off canned goods and non-perishable items at the main entrance of the middle school. A bin has been placed outside of the main entrance for drop-off. We ask that you bag the items and place your child’s name on the bag, as 1st-period classes are having a friendly competition to see who can donate the most items.
Finally tonight, this is a reminder to 8th-grade parents and students that Blue Ridge Virtual Governor’s School applications are due by December 11th. A link has been included through an email containing the application and an informational commercial. Paper applications are also available in the main office.
As always, I thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457. Have a great night!
