Good Sunday evening Bobcat Nation.  This is your principal, Shaun Woody.  I hope the weekend has treated everyone very well.  I am calling tonight with a preview for the week of August 30th.

With safety being our top priority at TeamLCPS, I ask that students continue to perform self-screenings each morning before coming to school.  If your child is sick, feeling sick, or has been around someone who has been sick, it is best for them to stay at home.  We must continue to work together to ensure the safety of all.  Please also reference information that was shared with parents/guardians on August 25th by Mr. Straley in regards to Student Learning Resources (SLRs), school bus expectations, and upcoming vaccine clinics.

This week, Louisa County Middle School will administer Fall Growth Assessments to face-to-face students on Tuesday, August 31st (Reading) and Thursday, September 2nd (Math) beginning at the start of the school day each morning.  For our Virtual Academy students, Fall Growth Assessments will be administered on Wednesday, September 1st (Reading), and Friday, September 3rd (Math) from 9:00am - 11:30am.

For further details on Growth Assessment testing, please refer to the attached letter or the LCMS website.  If you have any questions or have needs that go beyond those included in the letter, please contact Mrs. Amanda Harper, Assistant Principal and School Testing Coordinator, at [email protected]

Each year, the LCPS FFA hosts a Fall Plant Sale and that time has arrived once again!  Please consider making a purchase and supporting our awesome FFA students and staff!  To place an order, please click here.

We want to remind all parents and students that the LCMS School Store is open and ready for your Fall orders.  Show that Bobcat Nation pride by purchasing school spirit apparel.  Orders will be shipped directly to your home.  You may access our school store on the LCMS webpage (, or by following this link (  We also have a middle school football store that is now open until September 5th.  You may access this store by following this link

Also, September 6th is Labor Day and a division holiday, as no students report to the building.

Excelling together, we are Bobcat Nation!.  I thank you for your support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457.  Have a great night!
