Good Sunday evening Bobcat Nation.  This is your principal, Shaun Woody.  I hope everyone has enjoyed a great weekend.  I am calling tonight with a preview for the week of October 25th.

I would like to say thank you to our students who participated in the roadside community service project this past Wednesday.  Along with high school students, our students worked to beautify Louisa and gave back to this amazing community.

As we continue with #Kindness month, this week we collect “Cans for Kindness”.  We encourage students, faculty, and staff to bring in non-expired canned goods to their first-period classroom for a friendly competition.  This initiative is in conjunction with our LCMS “Stuff the Turkey” campaign where we will be collecting non-perishable, non-expired food items until November 19th.  All proceeds will be donated to the Louisa County Resource Council.

This Thursday, we celebrate another #Kindness Day.  Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to wear their “Kind is Cool” t-shirts.

It is time once again for Socktober!  We are currently collecting new socks, as well as gloves and hats, to donate to families in need, as cold weather is approaching.  If your child would like to bring in any of these items, there are grade-level bins located in the cafeteria.  We say a huge thank you to Cold Feet Warm Hearts for their generous contribution of 500 pairs of socks.

Attention eighth-grade parents: There will be a virtual parent night for those interested in learning more information about the Blue Ridge Virtual Governor's School on Tuesday, October 26th, at 7:00pm.  If you are interested in attending or would like more information, please call or email Mrs. Floyd ([email protected]).

This week, thanks to our Positive Home, School, and Community Correlate, we celebrate Fall Fun Spirit Week.  On Monday, we will be having a pajama day (dress code applies).  Please see the list below for each day’s theme.

Monday: Pajama Day

Tuesday: Camo Day

Wednesday: Twin Day

Thursday: Kind is Cool Day (Wear your “Kind is Cool” t-shirt)

Friday: Costume Day - within dress code guideline (no Halloween masks - masks that we wear each day are still required)

We wish our athletic teams that are in action this week the best of luck.

On November 1st and November 2nd, students do not report to school, as school is closed on both days.

Parents/Guardians, if you are interested in joining the PTA, please email Mrs. Dawn Passero ([email protected]) to become a part of an organization that works to strengthen the connection between home and school and to encourage family involvement.

Excelling together, we are Bobcat Nation!  I thank you for your support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457.  Have a great night!
