Monday, November 27th will be a B Day.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! We are looking forward to seeing our Bobcats back at school tomorrow. This will be the last school week of the month of November, and Bobcats can look forward to a fun incentive to celebrate perfect attendance for this month!
Attending School is a Key to Success
Attending school consistently is not just a matter of fulfilling a requirement; it is a key factor in your child's educational journey. Here are some reasons why consistent school attendance is so important:
Academic Success: Regular attendance ensures that your child receives essential instruction and fully participates in the learning process. Consistency in attendance leads to better academic performance and a deeper understanding of the curriculum.
Building a Strong Foundation: Middle school lays the foundation for higher education and future success. Each day of school contributes to your child's academic and personal growth, helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed for future challenges.
Social and Emotional Development: School is not just about academics; it is also a place for social interaction and emotional growth. Consistent attendance allows your child to form meaningful connections with peers and teachers, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.

It's understandable that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and absences due to illness or family emergencies can be inevitable. However, we encourage you to prioritize attendance whenever possible and to communicate with the school when your child cannot attend.

SOL Growth Assessments Wednesday, November 29th and Wednesday, December 6th
Our Bobcats will take the Reading SOL Growth Assessment on Wednesday, November 29th and the Math SOL Growth Assessment on Wednesday, December 6th. We will have an alternate bell schedule on those days for testing. It is always important for students to bring their fully charged Chromebook to school each day, and it is especially important on SOL testing days. Please support your child in having a daily routine of charging their Chromebook each night and putting it in their backpack to bring to school each morning.
Attending After School Athletic Events
The winter sports season is underway, including wrestling and boys basketball. Both teams are poised to have a great season! Be reminded that on days when we have home athletics events, students need to leave school as usual and return to school with an adult to attend the event. Students are not able to stay on the school campus without prearranged staff supervision. Also, students may not go to the Louisa County library and then return for an event; the library does not have structures in place to supervise our young Bobcat spectators. We look forward to cheering on our athletes for the rest of the season!
Spelling Bees
Students have participated in classroom spelling bees in English classes, and grade level spelling bees will be coming up on Tuesday, December 5th during the school day for students who advanced to the next level! G-o-o-d l-u-c-k, Bobcats!
