Good Sunday evening Bobcat Nation.  This is your proud principal, Shaun Woody.  I hope that everyone has enjoyed a relaxing Spring Break with family.  I am calling tonight with a preview for the week of April 18th.

This week, our eighth-grade students will be meeting with high school counselors within their Civics classrooms to select courses for next year (ninth-grade).  Course guides and information were sent home with your student before Spring Break through Civics classes.  Please contact Mrs. Floyd ([email protected]) with any questions that you may have.

Interims for quarter four will be sent home on Wednesday, April 20th, for our face-to-face students.  For our Virtual Academy students, interims will be mailed home on Wednesday.  As we begin to identify those students who will need to attend summer school, or be retained, I encourage parents to be in constant communication with teachers concerning their child’s academic progress.

Standards of Learning (SOL) testing will begin the week of April 25th and will run through the week of May 2nd.  Please see the emailed details for the testing dates and also what grade levels will be testing.

  • Reading SOL (All Grades): April 26th and April 27th (Virtual Academy Students)

  • Civics SOL (8th Grade Only): April 28th and April 29th (Virtual Academy Students)

  • Science SOL (8th Grade Only): May 3rd and May 4th (Virtual Academy Students)

  • Math SOL (All Grades): May 5th and May 6th (Virtual Academy Students)

Finally tonight, we wish our athletic teams that are in action this week the best of luck.

Excelling together, we are Bobcat Nation!  I thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457.  Have a great night!
