This week is the third week of Kindness Month and OPERATION KINDNESS! On Wednesday, we will be presenting a patriotic mural to our local VFW chapter! The local VFW helps support veterans, and we know this gift will mean a lot to them. Thank you to our art teacher and students who worked on this project, and stay tuned for highlights on Wednesday!
Also on Wednesday, our school division is hosting a special food truck lunch for all military service members and veterans! The lunch will be at The Jungle football stadium near the campuses of our middle school and high school from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All military members and veterans are invited to this free lunch!
We will wear red, white, and blue on Friday, October 20th as we show our appreciation for the men and women who serve to protect our country.
Next week, beginning Monday, October 23rd, we will be hosting an
Honor Their Courage Coins For Kindness drive! We will need your help to collect coins to support our veterans! 100% of the funds we collect will go to support the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit charity that supports veterans who were wounded physically or mentally in the line of duty. This is an incredibly important cause as we support the men and women of our military who protect this country.
Thanks for being a part of Operation Kindness, and remember that it’s cool to be kind!
Socktober has arrived! Students can donate socks, winter hats, scarves, sweatshirts, jackets, and anything else to help stay warm this winter! Even a small act of love, such as donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless. Grade level odd and even hallway bins are set up in the cafeteria for students to place their donations and participate in the grade level hallway competition! Remember all items must be new. Donations will be accepted through Friday, October 20th.
Don't forget to order this year's school pictures! Enjoy 10% off your order with the code F202310OFF. Visit the
Lifetouch website to redeem the coupon!
Fall pictures are included in our annual yearbook, so students who did not have their picture taken are encouraged to participate in the makeup picture day, which will be on Wednesday, October 25th. There will also be an opportunity for those who ordered pictures to have their picture retaken on that day. The picture order or proof must be brought back on retake day for a student to have a retake.
Would you like a glimpse into your child’s school day? Would you like to see firsthand what they have been working on so far this school year? Would you like to see their writings, creations, and evidence of their learning and progress?
Mark your calendar for Friday, October 27th for our LCMS Student Showcase! Families are invited to visit our school from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. prior to the LCHS Varsity football game against Albemarle in the Jungle, which kicks off at 7:30. Families can enjoy dinner at the tailgate in front of the middle school from 5:30 to 6:30. Students will be showcasing their learning, progress, creativity, and successes so far this school year. Families are invited to visit each of their child’s classrooms and teachers, as well as other areas in our school such as our library, and students who have their Showcase Card punched will receive a student ticket to the football game! More details will come. For now, mark your calendar to visit LCMS on Friday, October 27th from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. for the Student Showcase!
For Tuesday, October 31st, students and staff are invited to unite in a school-wide theme in the spirit of fun -- 1,001 Dalmatians: Spots Rule the School! Bobcats can wear white clothing adorned with black spots and let their creativity shine as they bring their favorite puppy characters to life! Each puppy can have its own unique personality, just like in the book and movie.
*If they choose, students may each receive a dalmatian
headband! Students will request a headband from their homeroom teacher.
