LCMS Principal Update

Good evening LCMS Bobcat Parents and Guardians,

This is your principal, Amanda Harper. The start of the school year is just around the corner! With the support of our community and dedicated staff, our students have persevered through a challenging time. The academic year ahead will provide the opportunity for reconnection and continued growth, and I am invigorated to lead our students and staff in expanding our strong foundation of success!

6th Grade Orientation and Chromebook Distribution will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 26 and 27. (This is for rising sixth grade students only.)

-6th-grade students with last names starting with A-K are invited to attend a session either at 3:30 or at 6:30 on Tuesday, July 26.

-6th-grade students with last names starting with L-Z are invited to attend a session either at 3:30 or at 6:30 on Wednesday, July 27.

Sessions will include a presentation about being a sixth-grader at LCMS, a tour of the school, and Chromebook distribution. An optional protection plan will be available for $20. Bobcat gear will also be available to purchase!

We are excited to partner with you in the pursuit of excellence in your child’s education! We look forward to welcoming all our Bobcats in grades 6, 7, and 8 at Open House on Friday, August 5, from 3:30 to 7:00. Bobcat gear will also be available to purchase! Again, an optional protection plan for Chromebooks will be available for $20.

Students’ schedules will be mailed home at the end of the last week in July, or a schedule can be provided to you at Open House.

If your address has changed, please contact the main office to inquire about the “LCPS Change of Address Form” and “LCPS Transportation Registration Form.” Please also let us know if your phone number or email address has changed. Communication is crucial in our partnership with you!

If your child will be in seventh or twelfth grade this year, please review the emailed immunization requirements and consult with your child’s physician regarding immunizations. Documentation of immunizations must be received before school begins. The student will not be allowed to attend classes if the student’s immunization record is not provided. Please fax or drop off immunization records to Nurse Joy Smith as soon as possible.

As for school supplies, students should bring basic supplies such as pencils, paper, binders, and a water bottle on the first day of school. It is recommended that students purchase a combination lock to secure their belongings in their physical education locker.

If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way, please call our office at (540) 894-5457. We look forward to welcoming you to school soon!
