LCMS Principal Weekly Update for April 23, 2023
Posted on 04/23/2023
Weekly Principal Update GraphicGood evening, LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,

Monday, April 24th will be an A day.

Please mark your calendar for the end of year SOL tests:
Thursday, April 27 - Civics SOL (8th grade)
Tuesday, May 2 - Reading SOL (6th, 7th, and 8th grades)
Thursday, May 4 - Science SOL (8th grade)
Tuesday, May 9 - Math SOL (6th, 7th, and 8th grades)

As we approach the final weeks of the school year, we ask for your support in ensuring that your child is getting good rest, is coming to school prepared and ready to learn, and is continuing to work hard. The end of year SOL tests are an opportunity for students to show what they know and demonstrate readiness for the next grade level. Please discuss with your child the importance of putting forth their best effort! This week, 8th grade Bobcats will take the Civics SOL on Thursday. We wish our students the best as they take this test!

Also, please ensure your student brings their fully charged Chromebook to school each day, especially on SOL testing days. Having a designated place at home to set the backpack and charge the Chromebook each evening can help ensure a smooth morning as they will be ready to grab and go!

With the weather getting warmer, the LCMS Health/ Physical Education department would like to reiterate the need for appropriate PE attire, as appropriate versus inappropriate attire has been discussed with students throughout the school year.

Appropriate attire may include:
Basketball shorts*
Soccer shorts*
Yoga pants
Joggers (sweatpants)
Crew neck shirts
Athletic shoes (No Crocs, Hey Dudes, Boots, etc…)

*All shorts must be appropriate length, or students will be asked to change back into the clothing they wore to school. As a result, students will be considered “not dressed” for PE class that day.

Families, we ask for your support from home in ensuring that students have appropriate attire with them at school on the days they have PE class.

Thank you, as always, for all of your support! If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way, please call our office at (540) 894-5457.
