OUR LCMS PHILOSOPHY The faculty and staff of Louisa County Middle School assume the responsibility of meeting the developmental needs of children during the formative middle school years. The students are the focus of the entire educational process and teachers are the facilitators of learning.

Louisa County Middle School commits itself to providing a positive learning environment and learning experiences conducive to mastering the basic concepts necessary for continuous academic, social, and personal growth. We believe that student growth is dependent upon the cooperative and collaborative efforts of parents/guardians, staff, and the community.

Because of the ever-changing needs of our students, we anticipate the need for the continuous re-evaluation and revision of our total school program.

OUR LCMS MISSION

Our mission, as the faculty and staff of Louisa County Middle School, in collaboration with families and the community, is to be a world-class, forward-thinking middle school.  We will be the model of excellence in education for other middle schools in Virginia.  We will provide a safe, healthy, respectful, and positive learning environment where all students are able to achieve their maximum academic, social, and emotional potential.
Post Secondary Schooling Opportunities The 2022 General Assembly passed House Bill 1299, directing the Virginia Department of Education and the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia to distribute to school divisions information that assists high school students in making more informed decisions about their futures and ensures that students are aware of the costs and benefits of different educational and certificate programs.
The Postsecondary Opportunities for High School Students webpage and the Level Up Virginia website contain information for students on preparing, applying, and paying for college, as well as information on degrees and labor market career projections.  Please share these resources with your middle and high school students to help them make informed decisions regarding preparing for post-high school educational and training opportunities.
