Good Sunday evening Bobcat Nation.  This is your proud principal, Shaun Woody.  I hope that everyone has enjoyed a great weekend and some playoff football.  I am calling tonight with a preview for the week of January 24th.

Families, I want to follow up on Superintendent Mr. Straley’s message from earlier this week.  As we await clarification concerning the conflicting wording in Executive Order 2 and Senate Bill 1303, we will continue with our current policies concerning masks at this time.  We are expecting further information to be released in the near future, and we will update you as soon as it is received.  We also want to reiterate a request Governor Youngkin made on Friday, as he encouraged families to follow the guidelines put in place at their school division and to await clarification from the state.  As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our administrative team directly and we will be glad to speak with you.

Parents/Guardians, I also want to thank you for ensuring that your child continues to perform self-screenings each morning.  If your child is experiencing COVID-like symptoms, please keep him or her at home and call the school to alert us.  Please note that our teachers will partner with you to help keep your child up to date academically and provide adequate time to catch up on assignments upon their return.  If you have any questions on whether or not you should keep your child at home, please feel free to call Nurse Spencer or a member of the administrative team.

While we were unable to last week due to school closings because of the weather, I want to inform all parents that we will be conducting a code red lockdown drill this week.  Students will practice and be informed of expectations if we were to go into a true code red lockdown emergency.  As with all drills, students are expected to take these drills seriously and follow the directions of their given teacher.

We will be starting track conditioning on January 25th for any student who may be interested.  Conditioning will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a VHSL physical form must be on file to participate.  For more information, please email LCMS Athletic Director, Amy Wilson ([email protected]).

Finally tonight, we wish our athletic teams that are in action this week the best of luck.

Excelling together, we are Bobcat Nation!  I thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457.  Have a great night!
