Good evening Bobcat Nation.  This is your principal, Shaun Woody.  I hope you all have had a great weekend.  On August 10th and 11th from 7:00am - 7:00pm, Louisa County Middle School will be holding a drive-thru open house for all students and families.  Located behind LCMS, within the faculty/staff parking lot, all students will be able to pick up Chromebooks, purchase Chromebook insurance for $20 (cash - exact change only, or check), receive personal protective equipment (masks), and pick up other forms of documentation needed for the 2020-2021 academic year.  In addition, all forms that were mailed with student schedules that require review and a signature should be returned on Chromebook distribution days.  In order to receive a Chromebook, the “Student/Parent Equipment Use Agreement”, must be signed and presented.

Students who will be attending the LCPS Virtual Academy will also receive items and information on these days to complete instruction beginning on August 13th.

Also, Nurse Spencer will be present for medication drop off during the two days.  Louisa County Public School personnel may give prescription medication to students only pursuant to the written order of a physician or nurse practitioner and with written permission from the student’s parent or guardian.  Louisa County Public School personnel may give nonprescription medication to students only with the written permission of the parent or guardian. Such permission shall include the name of the medication, the required dosage of the medication, and the time the medicine is to be given. Such medicine must be in the original container and delivered to the principal, school nurse, or school division designee by the parent/guardian of the student.

Finally, on August 10th, virtual open house videos will be emailed to parents/students from their scheduled teachers.  Teachers will discuss their classroom syllabus, classroom expectations, digital citizenship expectations, how to access Google Classrooms, supply lists, and more.  Teacher videos will also be uploaded to the LCMS website for your viewing.

As always, I thank you for your continued support and cooperation during this time. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457.  Have a great night!
