LCMS Principal Weekly Update for Aug. 15, 2021
Good Sunday evening Bobcat Nation. This is your principal, Shaun Woody. I hope everyone is enjoying a great weekend. What an exciting first few days of school we had this past week. It was amazing to see our students back in the classroom and in the virtual setting. For tonight, I am calling with a preview for the week of August 16th.
If your child has not already done so, please ensure that all paperwork that was given to students on August 11th is returned as soon as possible. Beginning tomorrow (16th), if students have turned in all of their required paperwork, they may begin taking their Chromebooks home. As students return to the building each day, please ensure that your child’s Chromebook is fully charged.
I want to inform all parents that we will be conducting a code red lockdown drill this week. Students will practice and be informed of expectations if we were to go into a true code red lockdown emergency. As with all drills, students are expected to take these drills seriously and follow the directions of their given teacher.
Virtual students will have access to select ebooks and audiobooks throughout this academic year by accessing Destiny from the library's web page. Students who prefer physical books are welcome to call the library at (540) 894-5457 x2080, to place books on hold. Books placed on hold may be picked up during the school day or by making other arrangements with the school librarians.
We are excited to announce that breakfast and lunch will be free for all students this academic year. We encourage students to take advantage of this amazing opportunity each and every day.
Finally tonight, this Friday, TeamLCPS will celebrate a green and gold spirit day. Bobcat Nation, let’s gear up in all green and gold and show our TeamLCPS and Bobcat Nation pride.
Excelling together, we are Bobcat Nation!. I thank you for your support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457. Have a great night!
