Good Sunday evening Bobcat Nation.  This is your principal, Shaun Woody.  I hope everyone has enjoyed a safe and relaxing Spring Break with family.  I am calling tonight with a preview for the week of April 12th.

As we are about halfway through the 4th nine weeks grading period, I continue to encourage all students (Virtual Academy/Blended) and parents to be in contact with teachers concerning academic progress.

This coming week, we will be working with 6th and 7th-grade students on scheduling for next year.  Also, during the week of April 19th, we will be working with 8th-grade students on scheduling for next year.

Get ready for Bobcat Bingo!  On Tuesday, April 13th at 7:00pm, we invite students and parents to take part in fun and competitive games of Bingo.  With numerous prizes available for winners, we know the evening will be filled with excitement.  If your family would like to participate, please email [email protected] to sign up.

On April 15th and April 16th, 6th-grade blended model students will change to their 6th rotation within the Exploratory Wheel.  Students will be given updated class schedules during 4th period on April 15th and April 16th to prepare for the change in their 5th-period class.  In addition, faculty/staff will ensure that students know the location of their new 5th-period class and assist in the hallways during the class change.

Beginning the week of April 19th, students will begin SOL testing.  Blended students will test on Tuesdays and Thursdays for (3) consecutive weeks and Virtual Academy students will test on Wednesdays for (3) consecutive weeks.  We wish all students the best of luck and we know you will do great!

Finally tonight, there will be (3) sports offered this spring at LCMS for 7th and 8th-grade students.  Those sports will be baseball, softball, and boys and girls track.  Tryouts will begin on April 19th, directly after school.  Your child must be academically eligible to participate, have a VHSL Physical and Student-Waiver Form on file (by April 16th).  We want every member of every team to enjoy this great opportunity to participate in athletics this spring.  Let’s make smart decisions at LCMS, at home, and when you are out and about in the community.  Please email Mrs. Janelle Erickson ([email protected]), or call (540)894-5457, Ext. 2121 with questions.

Excelling together, we will.  Let’s continue to make safe and healthy choices.  I thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457.  Have a great night!
