LCMS Principal Update for Oct. 23, 2022
Posted on 10/23/2022
LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,
Monday, October 24th will be an A day.
We will have an LCMS Spirit Week this week! Take a look at the flyer to participate each day. Monday is Pajama Day. Tuesday is Twin Day. Wednesday is Kindness Day. (Students will receive an LCPS Kindness shirt on Wednesday morning.) Thursday is Battle of the Fans Day (wear your favorite band-tee or sports jersey). Friday is Camo vs. Neon Day (blend in our stand out).
An informational night will be held on Tuesday, October 25th at 7:00 pm in the LCMS forum for 8th graders and parents interested in learning more about the Blue Ridge Virtual Governor's School. Seventh grade families are welcome to attend to get a jump start for their 8th grade year. Wanda Elliott, BRVGS Director, will present about the program and answer any questions students or families may have. Please reach out to Mrs. Floyd at LCMS or Mr. Ryan at LCHS for more information.
As we celebrate Kindness all throughout the month of October, our division-wide Rally 4 Kindness is coming up on Wednesday, October 26th. We will be gathering together as one team and as one school division in The Jungle on Wednesday as we promote kindness in our schools, our families, our communities, and ourselves! The Rally 4 Kindness will feature games, music, prizes, secret guests, and a whole lot more! So students, don’t forget, our Rally 4 Kindness is this Wednesday! Get ready for a great time!
In this final week of SOCKtober, LCMS continues to collect NEW socks, hats, gloves, scarves, and other winter clothes to donate to families in our community. All items must be new and can be donated in bins located in the cafeteria. Students should donate to their homeroom hallway’s bin so that hallway earns the points! The winning hallways will earn a Walk and Talk on the LCHS track! Collection will run through Friday, October 28th.
We hope to see our Bobcats at the Hometown Homecoming Parade on Thursday evening and again at the LCHS Varsity Football Homecoming game on Friday evening!
At Louisa County Public Schools, we have a deep appreciation for our military and the veterans who have fought for the freedoms we enjoy each day. As we approach Veterans Day, we invite our Bobcat families to fill out a nomination form recognizing members of your family or friends group that are veterans. Our Bobcats will be writing letters of appreciation and we will be mailing the letters to all who are nominated. Please complete the Honoring our Veterans Form to nominate veterans you know and include their mailing addresses for them to receive a letter from our Bobcats. You can also upload a photo to be included in a special slideshow.
The Virginia Department of Education has asked all school divisions to share information concerning the Child Tax Credit for low-income families. The deadline to apply for this credit is coming up on November 15th, so be sure to visit our school website, where we have posted a link with more information.
There is an exciting opportunity for students through an offering from Virginia State University on Saturday, November 5th. If interested, check out our website for details!
Looking ahead, students may dress up on Monday, October 31st, as long as dress code guidelines are followed and there are no Halloween masks.
Also, we will have an after school dance on Friday, November 4th! We have had a blast at our first two dances, so we are looking forward to another great time with our Bobcats!
If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way, please call our office at (540) 894-5457.
