Good evening Bobcat Nation.  This is your principal, Shaun Woody.  I hope you all have enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend with family.  I am calling tonight with a preview for the week of September 21st - 25th.

Our #Kindness days are here!  On Monday and Friday of this upcoming week, we will be wearing our “Be Kind” t-shirts.  Let’s flood the hallways of LCMS with kindness and all participate on the given days.  In conjunction with #Kindness days, Bobcat Nation will also be celebrating our “Start with Hello” initiative over the next few weeks.  “Start with Hello” is a campaign that came out of the Sandy Hook community to promote awareness of social isolation, bullying prevention, and encourage students to reach out to make connections with others.  We will be having announcements each day along with specific spirit days and activities to help promote these topics.  The specific themes for each day will be emailed and placed on the LCMS webpage (https://lcms.lcps.k12.va.us/).

On September 21st and 22nd, 7th grade blended model students will be receiving hearing and vision screenings.  We thank the Lion’s Club for providing this service for our students.  If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Spencer ([email protected]).

On September 24th, 6th grade blended model students will change to their 2nd rotation within the Exploratory Wheel.  Students will be given updated class schedules during 4th period on the 24th to prepare for the change in their 5th-period class that day.  In addition, faculty/staff will ensure that students know the location of their new 5th-period class and assist in the hallways during the class change.

Finally, tonight, as we continue to work through our new models of instruction, I encourage parents/students to reach out to teachers, or administration, if we can be of assistance throughout this process.  It is imperative that students are remaining up to date on their assignments and meeting established deadlines.  Again, please know that we are here to support and assist you and your child in this process.

As always, I thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457.  Have a great night!
