Principal Weekly Update graphicLCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,

Monday, January 8th will be an A Day.

On Friday, January 12th, we will have an Olweus lesson and we will wear our LCPS kindness shirts!

Report cards were sent home with students on Friday, January 5th. Please review the report with your child and contact teachers with any questions or concerns. I also encourage you to frequently monitor your child’s academic progress by using the online PowerSchool Parent Portal where you are able to see the detailed grade book for each class, as well as attendance and tardy information. Working together, we can ensure your child’s growth and success!

Food is an important part of all cultures. It brings families together. Some of your best memories may center around a home-cooked meal. The Culturally Responsive and Inclusion Correlate is collecting recipes for the first-ever LCMS Cultural Cookbook! The cookbook will make its debut at the Inaugural Intercultural Festival on Saturday, April 20th. The correlate is also looking for student performers for the festival! For more information, check out the Intercultural Festival website on the LCMS Student Start Page.

Looking ahead, there will be no school on Monday, January 15th, as we commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Continuing to look ahead, we will have a Valentine’s Dance on Friday, February 9th after school until 5:30. The permission form will be emailed to families the Sunday prior and provided for students in the cafeteria that week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Permission forms must be turned in by Thursday, February 8th by 1:20 (end of lunch shifts).

Our second semester is off to a strong start! If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way, please call our office at (540) 894-5457.
