Good Tuesday evening Bobcat Nation and Happy New Year!  This is your principal, Shaun Woody.  I hope 2021 is off to a great start for your family and everyone enjoyed the holiday season.  I am calling tonight with a preview for the week of January 4th.

With safety being our top priority at TeamLCPS, and as we return from winter break, I ask that students continue to perform self-screenings each morning before coming to school.  If your child is sick, feeling sick, or has been around someone who has been sick, it is best for them to stay at home.  We must continue to work together to ensure the safety of all.

With second semester beginning on Thursday and Friday of this week, I encourage parents and students to be in constant communication with teachers throughout the academic grading period.  Also, please continue to check in with your child’s teachers at regular intervals to ensure that all assignments are being completed.

On Thursday and Friday of this week, all blended model students will be bringing home letters related to Student Learning Resources and Title IX guidelines (Title IX guidelines will be emailed to LCMS Virtual Academy students on Thursday).  In addition, our 8th-grade blended model students will be bringing home a letter in reference to SOL testing for this academic year.  The SOL letter will be mailed home to LCMS Virtual Academy students with report cards on January 11th.

We have exciting news from our Nutrition Department.  For all of second semester, breakfast, lunch, and take-home meals remain free of charge for all students.  Please encourage your child to take advantage of these free meal options while in school and also to bring home each day that they are in school.

Finally tonight, this is a message to our LCMS Virtual Academy students about accessing the LCMS Library.  Students may check out books by visiting the LCMS Library Webpage (https://louisacountymslibrary.weebly.com/).  Library book pick-up is available every Wednesday from 7:45am to 3:00pm, or you may make other arrangements by emailing our school librarian Mrs. Baughman ([email protected]).  Need a book right away?  Check out our audiobooks available on the library webpage.

We wish all of our students and families a safe, healthy, and successful 2021.  I thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457.  Have a great night!
