Good Sunday evening Bobcat Nation.  This is your principal, Shaun Woody.  I hope you and your family have had a chance to go outside today and enjoy this seasonal January weather.  I am calling tonight with a preview for the week of January 11th.

With safety being our top priority at TeamLCPS, I ask that students continue to perform self-screenings each morning before coming to school.  If your child is sick, feeling sick, or has been around someone who has been sick, it is best for them to stay at home.  We must continue to work together to ensure the safety of all.

On Monday and Friday of this week, TeamLCPS will be having our #Kindness days.  All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to wear their “be kind” t-shirts as we continue to demonstrate to the world that KINDNESS will always make a difference.  We thank all of Bobcat Nation for setting a positive example and leading the way.

On Monday and Tuesday of this week, blended model students will be receiving report cards in their fourth-period classes.  In addition, students will be bringing home a letter in reference to the Virginia School Survey of Climate and Working Conditions.  This is a survey that students and staff will be taking on January 28th and 29th.  Virtual Academy students will have their report cards mailed home on Monday with the survey letter enclosed.

This is a message to our LCMS Virtual Academy students about accessing the LCMS Library.  Students may check out books by visiting the LCMS Library Webpage (https://louisacountymslibrary.weebly.com/).  Library book pick-up is available every Wednesday from 7:45am to 3:00pm, or you may make other arrangements (including pick-up day and time) by emailing our school librarian Mrs. Baughman ([email protected]).  Need a book right away?  Check out our audiobooks available on the library webpage.

Finally tonight, I want to inform all parents that we will be conducting a code red lockdown drill this week for our blended model students.  Students will practice and be informed of expectations if we were to go into a true code red lockdown emergency.  As with all drills, students are expected to take these drills seriously and follow the directions of their given teacher.

Working together, “We Will”.  I thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457.  Have a great night!
