Good evening, LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,
Welcome back to school from Spring Break! I hope each of our Bobcats enjoyed time with family and friends and soaked up the beautiful weather!
Monday, April 17th be a B day.
We are celebrating Staff Appreciation Week at LCMS this week! Please encourage your child to take a moment to express appreciation for their teachers and school staff who support them each day! They might consider a handwritten note or an email to express their gratitude. We are thankful for the dedication and hard work of our school staff who make LCMS a wonderful school to learn and grow in!
The LCMS Talent Show will take place on Thursday, April 20th at 6:00 p.m. in the forum. We are excited to see our Bobcats showcase their talents!
We will have clubs at the end of the day on Friday, April 21st! Please avoid early pickups after 2:30 that day if possible.
Also on Friday, April 21st, we will have a dance from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for current 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students as a way of welcoming our future Bobcats! Permission forms and the $5 admission fee will be accepted at the door. Pre-registration is not required for this dance. Families, enter the campus via Bus Garage Road and park in either the bus lot or the main LCMS parking lot. Parents/guardians will pick up students from the dance beginning at 8:30 p.m. at the main visitor entrance of LCMS. (Current 5th grade students will enter the front entrance on the left when facing the school.) Pizza, soda, water, popcorn, and candy will be available for purchase. All school rules apply at the dance. Students are expected to dance appropriately and dress according to the dress code. Cell phones must remain in backpacks and not be used during the dance. This will be our final LCMS dance for the year for sixth and seventh grade Bobcats, and this is a great opportunity to welcome our future Bobcats who are currently in fifth grade!
Please mark your calendar for the end of year SOL tests:
Thursday, April 27 - Civics SOL (8th grade)
Tuesday, May 2 - Reading SOL (6th, 7th, and 8th grades)
Thursday, May 4 - Science SOL (8th grade)
Tuesday, May 9 - Math SOL (6th, 7th, and 8th grades)
As we approach the final weeks of the school year, we ask for your support in ensuring that your child is getting good rest, is coming to school prepared and ready to learn, and is continuing to work hard. The end of year SOL tests are an opportunity for students to show what they know and demonstrate readiness for the next grade level. Please discuss with your child the importance of putting forth their best effort!
Also, please ensure your student brings their fully charged Chromebook to school each day, especially on SOL testing days. Having a designated place at home to set the backpack and charge the Chromebook each evening can help ensure a smooth morning as they will be ready to grab and go!
