LCMS Principal Weekly UPdate for Oct. 17, 2021

Good Sunday evening Bobcat Nation.  This is your principal, Shaun Woody.  I hope everyone has enjoyed a weekend full of family time.  I am calling tonight with a preview for the week of October 18th.

This Wednesday (20th) is an Asynchronous Learning Day and students do not report to school.

Also on October 20th, we will be holding face-to-face parent-teacher conferences from 1:00pm - 4:00pm by appointment only.  Please note that if you attend a face-to-face conference, all prevention strategies that TeamLCPS has in place will apply.  In addition, we will also have Zoom and phone conferences available between Wednesday, October 20th, and Wednesday, October 27th.  Please note that if you choose a Zoom or phone conference, these conferences may be during teachers’ planning periods, or after school, if held after October 20th.  All students brought home sign-up sheets from each of their teachers.  If you would like to sign-up for a conference or you have any questions, please contact your child’s teachers.

On October 21st, students will have the opportunity to take their make-up pictures.  Also, the day will serve as an opportunity for our Virtual Academy students to take their school pictures.  Virtual Academy school pictures will be taken from noon to 2:00pm on October 21st.  Virtual Academy parents/students, please call the main office (540-894-5457), or email Mrs. Banning ([email protected]), to sign up for a time slot.

As we continue with #Kindness month, this week we “Spread Kindness in the Community”.  I thank all of our students who have signed up to participate in our roadside cleanup project this Wednesday.

It is time once again for Socktober!  Starting Monday, we will be collecting new socks as well as gloves and hats for two weeks to donate to families in need, as cold weather is approaching.  If your child would like to bring in any of these items, there will be grade-level bins located in the cafeteria starting on Monday.

Attention eighth-grade parents: There will be a virtual parent night for those interested in learning more information about the Blue Ridge Virtual Governor's School on Tuesday, October 26th, at 7:00pm.  If you are interested in attending or would like more information, please call or email Mrs. Floyd ([email protected]).

Excelling together, we are Bobcat Nation!  I thank you for your support and cooperation. If we can assist in any way, please contact us at (540) 894-5457.  Have a great night!
