LCMS Principal Weekly Update for Sept. 3, 2023
Posted on 09/03/2023
Weekly Principal Update graphicGood evening, LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,

There will be no school on Monday, September 4th for the Labor Day holiday. I hope all of our Bobcats enjoy the day off! Tuesday, September 5th will be an A Day.

We had a fantastic time at our first after school dance of the school year! There were lots of happy Bobcats enjoying socializing and having fun…and there was lots of popcorn, pizza, and soda, too! Our next after school dance will be on Friday, October 6th!

This will be another exciting week at LCMS; we will have our LCMS Kindness Kickoff during the school day on Tuesday, September 5th! We will enjoy hearing from a trio of guest speakers. We will also have our first Olweus lesson about kindness (Bobcat Pride Time) of the year, and we will have Team Time with our grade levels! We will wear GREEN and GOLD on Tuesday to show our school spirit for the event. This is the kind of day that school memories are made of, so we hope that all of our Bobcats will be present on Tuesday to join in the fun!

Interim reports will come home with students on Friday, September 8th. Please review the report with your child and contact teachers with any questions or concerns. I also encourage you to frequently monitor your child’s academic progress by using the online PowerSchool Parent Portal where you are able to see the detailed grade book for each class, as well as attendance and tardy information. Working together, we can ensure your child’s growth and success!

Tuesday, September 12th will be Picture Day! Pictures can be ordered at lifetouch.com with the Picture Day ID: EVTT9Q28C

We will have an Asynchronous Learning Day on Wednesday, September 13th. LCMS Bobcat students and staff will be participating in community service activities as a way to give back to our supportive community. We will be volunteering at Louisa County Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, the Louisa County Resource Council, Spring Oak Senior Living, and LCPS Nutrition and Food Service. This is an excellent opportunity for students to be involved in a service project that benefits our community. Please complete, sign, and return the permission form to the LCMS main office as soon as possible to participate!

If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way, please call our office at (540) 894-5457.
