Each year in September, thousands of schools and youth organizations nationwide participate in Start With Hello Week to celebrate the amazing work of educators, students, and community members in building socially inclusive learning environments for all students. Here is what is happening at LCMS this week:
Monday (27th): Wear orange for Bullying Prevention/Bullying Awareness
Activity: Each student and staff member will receive a name tag to wear in order to promote calling people by name and learning the names of people they may not know.
Tuesday (28th): Wear green in Support of the Sandy Hook Community
Activity: Start a conversation with someone new.
Wednesday (29th): Wear teal for Social Isolation Awareness
Activity: During lunch, students will have the opportunity to write words of encouragement for each other on sticky notes to be placed on lockers in each hallway. Also, students will be encouraged to submit a positive message through the YouUplift platform on the Student Webpage throughout the week.
Thursday (30th): Super Hero Day
Activity: Guest speaker video message
Friday (October 1st): “Kindness is Cool” t-shirts (TeamLCPS Kindness Day)
Activity: Random Acts of Kindness: Students and staff will be encouraged to go out of their way to do something nice for someone else.
