LCMS Principal Weekly Update for Jan. 22, 2023

LCMS Weekly Update LogoGood evening, LCMS Bobcat Parents and Families,

Monday, January 23rd will be a B day. Wednesday, January 25th will be an asynchronous learning day and students will not come to school. Thursday, January 26th will be a B day.

For your information, we will have a bus evacuation drill and a lockdown drill this week at LCMS.

Please review the LCPS Attendance Newsletter for February. As always, students should stay home when they are sick but should attend school when possible. Students who have 17 or more absences in a given year, whether they are excused or unexcused absences, are considered chronically absent and are subject to being retained. Send in or email absence notes to Mrs. Filer at LCMS if absences can be excused. Her email address is [email protected]. Students may need to attend after-school study hall sessions to reduce total absences. We hope to see our Bobcats at school each day ready to learn.

Looking ahead to the Asynchronous Learning Days on January 25th, February 15th, and March 8th:
Louisa County Parks, Recreation & Tourism (LCPRT) offers the Teens In Action (TIA) Teen Lounge for middle school students to be able to hang out with friends for a day of games, team building activities, and gym time, as well as a community service project at the Betty J. Queen Center. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided, but participants need to bring a bagged lunch and a water bottle. The registration deadline is the Monday before the Asynchronous Learning Day or when the registration is full. The Teen Lounge is available from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Asynchronous Learning Days and the cost for each day is $20. For the Asynchronous Learning Day in February, the Teens in Action will be teaming up with JABA and doing crafts and games with the Senior Center, and in March they will be heading to Serenity Farms to volunteer. To register, visit the LCPRT website or call their office at 540-967-4420.

If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way, please call our office at (540) 894-5457.
